Terms and conditions ensure that we are on the same page when it comes to conducting business together. Please read these terms of sale carefully. These terms of sale contain the entire agreement and understanding between the Kala Waya Collections brand and clients/customers in relation to purchase arrangements of products and other services from this website. 

1. KW Collections Craftmanship

Kala Waya Collections jewellery creations whether it be a hair piece or body jewellery, are always handcrafted to a high quality and with meticulous detail. Please bear in mind that as every piece is made by hand, and whilst all effort is made to keep each jewellery piece similar to the original right down to the finest detail, at times there may slight and unique variations in design, size, colour or embellishments. This is the beauty of handmade and does not affect the craftsmanship invested in ensuring you are happy with your order/commission. Absolutely matching your individual sophisticated style. 

I thoroughly enjoy making beautiful bespoke pieces. I can work with clients on the basis of having freedom to design what I envision would suit you based on our consultation or lead by your request to recreate pieces according to your photo, inspo and/or specification.

2. Sizing

All hair and body jewellery are made to a standard size. I am happy to create pieces to your own personal measurements at no extra charge to ensure a perfect fit. 

For necklaces and bracelets, to measure your personal jewellery size, use a length of ribbon or string to adjust upon your neck or wrist to the preferred length. Using a tape measure, calculate the length of ribbon or string used in inches. Alternatively, measure your own jewellery and forward these details, along with details of your order, to Kala Waya Collections. 

For locs and braid/twists’ jewellery, measure the diameter of your hair loc or braid. Handy guide here. If in doubt send a photo of your hair.

3. Rush Orders 

Specific lead times from design to delivery of your jewellery piece, are indicated on the website. I understand that sometimes things don’t go to plan and you may need a jewellery piece in a hurry. If you require a rush order, please contact me at info@kalawayacollections.com with details of what you require, wear date and your location. I’ll try my best to assist, dependent on my booked commissions and timeframe. Rush orders may incur additional costs which you are responsible for paying. This fee covers the cost of making a last-minute item. This does not include any expedited shipping fees such as Royal Mail Next Day delivery or a courier service. 

An alternative is to check out the Ready to Wear shop to see if there is anything you may wish to purchase. 

4. Samples for Bespoke

A sample/swatch board is used for each bespoke consultation. You will have the opportunity to visualise design material options whether we are in a face to face or virtual meeting. Choosing your preferred wire/metal, embellishments or fabrics for the creation your commissioned jewellery piece will be an exciting experience!

On request, sample packs can be supplied subject to a small postage fee. Each item within a sample/swatch pack is free of charge except for natural pearls, Swarovski, semi-precious gems and precious metals such as sterling silver. Costs for these samples are refundable against any subsequent order. 

Sample packs are subject to availability and applicable to UK residents only. 

5. Product Information 

Great care is taken to accurately describe KW Collections jewellery through photography and written descriptions. On this site jewellery descriptions will always cover the use of a jewellery piece, materials, product care, range of colours or embellishments and size of the piece. Measurements given are approximate but shall be as accurate as we can reasonably make them. 

Unfortunately Kala Waya Collections cannot accept responsibility for any variations in the appearance of colour/hue of the jewellery due to the computer equipment or software used by my clients/customers. 

If a product is no longer available due to circumstances beyond our control, you will be notified immediately and offered an alternative. 

6. Safety 

Most of my jewellery pieces are handcrafted with wire and other metals. I check thoroughly to ensure that all my pieces are free of sharp edges by filing down to a smooth surface or tucking safely and neatly within the design structure. Embellishments are weaved into the design securely. 

My pieces contain small parts and are not suitable for young children.

7. Methods of Payments

All transactions are processed in GBP(£) or USD($). Exchange rates are an estimate only, based on the latest figures. 

The following payment methods are accepted:
– Credit cards
– PayPal
– Bank wire transfers

For orders or transactions placed in person, an additional method of cash payment is accepted. 

No payment by cheques accepted. 

Please note that prices for products are liable to change at any time, but changes will not affect contracts which have come into force. 

In addition to the price of the products, you may have to pay a delivery charge, which will be as stated at checkout.

For Ready to Wear Pieces, full payment must be made upon the submission of your order. Order cannot be processed otherwise. 

For Bespoke orders, payment must follow the agreed contract of specified deposit and final payment before delivery. I have the right to withhold the products and/or cancel the contract between us if funds are not received and cleared in full. 

8. Ready to Wear

9. Copyright 

All images and designs shown on www.kalawayacollections.com are the copyright of the Kala Waya Collection brand. Images must not be reproduced without written permission from me. Failure to do so will result in legal action. 

10. Packaging and Jewellery Care

All Kala Waya Collections hair and body jewellery pieces are packaged with a dose of love. See my packaging page for all the info. I care about your entire client/customer experience right down to the last fold of delicate tissue paper used to ensure your luxe jewellery piece arrives in the best condition.  

Jewellery pieces are delicate and should be handled with care. Please see jewellery care guide here. You are advised to store your item in its original box or pouch to protect from damage, direct humidity or sunlight. Kala Waya Collections cannot be held responsible for pieces tarnishing over time. 

11. Mailing List 

If you sign up to Kala Waya Collections mailing list, an email will be emailed out to you from time to time. I understand from a personal perspective, that receiving numerous newsletters can clog up an inbox and be a tad annoying. The KW Collections newsletter will only be sent from time to time and include relevant information to introduce you to offers and the wonderful services that can be provided to with decisions on help you make choices on hair pieces and jewellery for your special occasion or the everyday. Should you wish to be removed from the mailing list at any time, please follow the ‘unsubscribe’ link at the bottom of our newsletters or email me directly at info@kalawayacollections.com. The database only holds your email address. It stores no other personal details. Your email address will never be disclosed to any other individual or company without your permission. 

12. Bespoke/Custom Orders 

If you have a vision in mind and cannot find what you are looking for, please check out my bespoke and services pages and use the contact form to let me know what you have in mind. Alternatively, you can also email me at info@kalawayacollections.com with your idea. I’ll let you know if it’s possible and a consultation can be arranged to discuss.

All bespoke and customisation orders are final, though if additional adjustments are needed, it can be made at no extra charge.

When working on your customised item, I will send photos – either during the process or when finished, for approval. You may want to point out any details or ask me to make corrections/alterations.

After the work is approved and you have made the final order payment, it is ready to be lovingly packaged and posted. Once you receive the item, you are welcome to contact me to provide feedback. Photos of unboxing and jewellery being worn is welcomed! It’s a great feeling to see clients happy!

13. International Orders 

International orders for Ready to Wear can be placed online 24/7. For bespoke and customisation enquiries, fill out the contact form or send a Whatsapp message on 001 44 7951 349804. See shipping information for specific charges. Goods delivered abroad are subject to local custom and excise duty which you are responsible for paying. 

14. Statutory Rights 

Nothing in the terms of sale affects your statutory rights. Including your right to receive a refund or exchange from Kala Waya Collections if the item your order is defective, not what you ordered or does not reach you in perfect condition. Please read Returns and Exchanges for more details. 

15. Security and Privacy 

All of your details (name, address, credit card details and any other information) is kept securely. Confidential information such as your credit card number will be used only to fulfil your order. When you click the ‘Pay with credit or debit card’ button to enter our checkout, you enter the secure section of the site. Your card details are verified automatically online by our payment processor.

16. Lead times

All pieces ordered from the website are handcrafted. Lead time for the purpose of this Terms of Sale refers to the time of design to completion and shipment. 

Please note that bespoke and customised jewellery is prioritised by order of special event date. For weddings, I try my best to meet hair trial dates. 

Lead time estimates also depends on product stock, Kala Waya Collections service chosen, the complexity of design, changes you require in the design to make it unique to your style and if materials are in stock or need to be sourced. Lead time and shipping time may also be extended depending on your special occasion date and hair trial if applicable. 

For Ready to Wear items, you will receive your item between 1 – 3 days depending on your shipping selection at check out. This is all depending on stock levels. 

If no modifications are needed for bespoke/commissioned orders, you can expect to receive your piece between 6-8 weeks of making deposit and agreeing to commission contract.

17. Shipping and Delivery 

UK Orders:

All KW Collections jewellery pieces are posted within the UK by Royal Mail postal service. Orders to Europe, Caribbean and the Rest of the World are posted using Royal Mail International Standard services. 

For all orders under £100, there is a postal fee charge. Free shipping for orders over £100 (applies to UK and Europe orders only). 

International Orders: 

International deliveries can take up to 10 working days to arrive. All international orders will be sent via Royal Mail International services. Kala Waya Collections cannot be responsible for any delays once items are in the possession of the postal company. Any customs charges or import taxes are the responsibility of the client/customer. Please be aware of your country’s fees on receiving the parcel.

For Ready to Wear (RTW) orders through the online boutique, these items can be shipped to be delivered to you within 1-5 days depending on the shipping method that you choose at checkout. If items are not in stock, you will be notified at point of browsing. 

For customisation orders, please allow between an estimated 2-4 weeks for your item to be made. You will be notified of shipping date. Once I have an idea of what you require, I will notify you of the individual jewellery piece lead time. Lead time depends on the complexity of design, the changes you require in the design to make it unique to your style and if materials are in stock.

If using full KW Experience bespoke service, please allow an estimated 6-8 weeks from consultation and approval of commission to the jewellery piece being handcrafted. You will be notified of shipping date. 

Bespoke and customised orders will have individual lead times. Once each piece is handcrafted and to the satisfaction of the client, you will be notified of estimated shipping date. 

The below refers to Ready to Wear Orders in Stock. Most packages will be sent as Tracked or Tracked & Signed For.

Please ensure that you are available to sign for parcel on delivery. In circumstances where you are not home, a notification card will be left by Royal Mail with instructions to arrange redelivery or collection from your local Postal Depot. 

Royal Mail advises that items will be held for at least 18 days, however it is your obligation to check the Royal Mail’s current rules prior to ordering. After this time the parcel will be returned to Kala Waya Collections and you will be responsible for any repeat delivery costs.

Need your item quick? Send me a message. If possible, I will be sure to rush the delivery for an extra charge to cover the shipping costs. For international orders, rushed orders could be shipped using a preferred courier such as Parcelforce, DPD, FedEx, TnT. 

Lost Items: 

All items are sent securely with a reliable postal service. In the event of a ‘loss’ once postal service protocol has been exhausted, the item will be replaced as quickly as possible.


Damaged/Broken Package:
Packages may be damaged during transportation. If this happens with your order, please send notification immediately. This will be investigated and instructions sent to you about the next steps.

18. Returns, Exchanges or Refunds  

Kala Waya Collections aims to exceed your expectations and hope you would be happy with your order. It is understandable that on the odd occasion this may not be the case and there is a commitment to ensure that this can be resolved in the best way for you. If any item is damaged or faulty, please do let me know within 5 days of receipt with photos so specify what the issue is . 

It is advised that prior to ordering that you choose your jewellery piece carefully. When you commit to purchase from Kala Waya Collections, it is understood that you are aware of the policies, terms and conditions, shipping times and costs. Please ensure that you have read the product details properly, noting the dimensions (which can vary by 1cm) and colours. Please note that colours may vary between computer screens. Product descriptions are written to be as accurate as possible.  

If you have any questions regarding jewellery pieces, please ask first before making a purchase. Sample or swatch packs can be posted for Bespoke and Custom queries to assist you in making an informed decision. Please see here for more information. 

Exchanges and refunds are accepted for jewellery in the Ready to Wear (RTW) Lines. You must send notification via email with 14 days of receipt of item. If exchange or refund agreed, send back item back within 7 days. Item must be in its original, unused condition in KW Collections packaging. If items are not in their original condition a refund would be refused and the item returned to the customer. 

All shipping cost must be paid for by the customer returning the item and shipping costs paid at the time of purchase not be refunded. Consider using a trackable shipping service or purchasing shipping insurance as I am not responsible for the postal service and return guarantee. 

The refund for the items returned will be credited either to the debit or credit card used or to your PayPal account within 7 business days.  Kala Waya Collections is not responsible for bank processing times.

Depending on where you live, the time it may take for your exchanged item to reach you, may vary.

These terms are compliant with fair trade standards.

Exceptions 

Bespoke orders and customisation orders that meet the brief agreed, cannot be refunded or exchanged due to the fact that these items are handcrafted to your specifications.

Late or Missing Refunds (if applicable)

If you haven’t received a refund within the specified timeframe notified by Kala Waya Collections, first check your bank account again. Next, contact your bank. There is often some processing time before a refund is posted. If you’ve done all of this and you still have not received your refund yet, please contact info@kalawayacollections.com

Kala Waya Collections is not liable for failure to deliver goods due to circumstances beyond its control.

19. Cancellations 

Clients/customers have the right to notify of cancellation of item via email within 14 days from the date package is delivered and received by you. Kala Waya Collections is a small business, early notice would be appreciated. Items will be returned at your own cost and risk. Once I receive the item(s) back, a refund will be processed. The right is reserved by Kala Waya Collections to make a deduction for any loss of value of the jewellery items as a result of mishandling prior to return.

Orders placed and confirmed by deposit can be cancelled in writing providing no work has commenced on the piece. 

Bespoke orders and customisations already in progress are exempt from being cancelled due to the fact that these items are handcrafted to your specifications. Deposits paid for these types of commissions are non-refundable. 

Cancellation by Brand

The right is reserved by the KW Collections brand to cancel an order if there is insufficient stock to deliver the jewellery item you have commissioned. If we have to cancel a contract, you will be notified by the email you provided during consultation. A full refund will be given.  

20. Customer Service 

Kala Waya Collections promises to provide a prompt, friendly and courteous service that encourages your return. I will be responsive to queries and concerns to the best of my ability. 

21. Kind Words, Sharing and Tagging on Social Media 

Your feedback and reviews will be used to measure performance and improve the Kala Waya Collections processes thereby enhancing client/customer experience. 

This is a small business with big dreams, you can show your support by sending referrals and recommendations my way. Share and tag your gorgeous pics/videos of your jewellery orders on Instagram, Facebook, Pinterest or Youtube. We love to see unboxing videos. Better yet, strut your stuff! Remember to always credit my brand in your post and stories. Images can also be sent to info@kalawayacollections with your written consent that they can be shared.
